Cholla Cactus Garden
The Cholla Cactus Garden is a hidden gem in the Joshua Tree National Park. I have been to Joshua Tree many of times and this past trip was the first time I have had the chance to lay my eyes on the Cholla Cactus Garden. A friend and I were headed to Palm Desert from Joshua Tree which led us straight to this beautiful place that we would have never found otherwise. Little did I know, it is only a 12-minute drive from where we were, Arch Rock, one the most popular spots in Joshua Tree.
How to get to Cholla Cactus Garden
Follow these embedded directions and you will be sure to stumble across the Cholla Cactus Garden. If you are coming from the campgrounds in Joshua Tree it will be on your right-hand side and it can’t be missed, just in case you lose cell signal which you should be prepared for when out in the desert.
What do expect at the Cholla Cactus Garden
There are thousands upon thousands of Cholla Cacti at this place, quite possibly the most cactus I have ever seen. Be sure to read the warning signs as there are always potential dangers while entering any sort of, “Cactus Garden”. There are clear paths to walk amongst these beautiful cacti, but keep your eyes peeled, these cacti break off and can be found on the paths. There is a warning letting you know to stay on the trail, which obviously I always stay on the trail, and to not bring your pets.
This was a pleasant surprise and I hope that you all have the chance to visit the Cholla Cactus Garden when visiting Joshua Tree National Park, I assure you, it is worth your time.
